木南 拓也 Takuya Kinami
Hyogu (Japanese architectural paper craft) Artisan
Based just north of Kyoto’s Nijo Castle, his hyogu workshop carries on nearly a century of family tradition. Officially certified by the Japanese government as a Traditional Craftsman, he specializes in traditional paper-based architectural elements — such as fusuma (sliding doors), shoji (translucent paper screens), folding screens, and scroll mounting — and also restores cultural properties. His refined technique brings quiet dignity to temples, ryokan, restaurants, and museums alike.
